The Office of Education Innovation accepts applications from existing Mayor-sponsored charter schools that wish to replicate their existing models into a different location, and charter schools currently authorized by a different entity applying to change authorizers. OEI has two charter replication application cycles per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The replication application process is a multi-step process that begins with the submission of a letter of intent and ends with the final chartering decision. Please see timeline below:**
Applicant submits letter of intent.
Due February 24, 2017 by 12:00 p.m.
Due March 24, 2017 by 12:00 p.m.
Staff collects feedback from reviewers and interviews applicant.
Applicant interviews will take place April 10-14, 2017
Indianapolis Charter School Board Meeting: staff presents recommendations to the board regarding whether each applicant should receive a charter; board deliberates and votes on final chartering decision.
The replication hearing will take place April 25, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in City-County Bldg. Rm. 118
